Being an artisan is a wild ride: sometimes with new ideas that work out amazingly the highs are incredible but when hours are poured into a large statement piece, a fringe necklace that pushes boundaries, only to spot flaws that make the process feel handmade in the most real way...disappointing, slightly defeated and definitely frustrated... Do I rip it out and restart, losing hours I’ve already invested? Or release the prototype as-is, inviting someone who doesn’t mind a little imperfection to wear the first chapter of a new collection?
In this piece, a few missteps surfaced that I’m choosing to acknowledge openly: missed beads disrupted the flow of the pattern, and a cracked bead slipped through — invisible unless you’re looking for it. These moments aren’t just setbacks; they’re learning loops that push my craft forward.
This style was a learn as you go first for me.
This is a prototype, a bold leap toward the next level. I’m leaning toward sharing it as-is to celebrate the honesty of the process while heavily discounting to welcome boundary-pushers who appreciate the story behind the makes. It’s a tossup, but either path feeds the evolution of the collection.
Stay tuned—new pieces launching soon.
