The successful Site Safety Coordinator will implement RPS safety programs by conducting daily field walks, taking care of regulatory compliance and audit oversight, and developing project specific corrective action plans to address safety issues and concerns at the beginning of projects as well as during projects as needed. This individual will also be responsible for the proper safety training of our field personnel as well as coaching and mentoring for employees to help facilitate safe behaviors and an overall safety culture within the company.
This role will require frequent travel throughout the United States and occasionally to Canada and may require you to occasionally work extra hours to support the organization.
The successful candidate would be responsible for carrying out the following duties:
- Support with assisting and coaching Superintendents/ Foremen in the development of Job Hazard Analyses, Hazard Recognition, Permit Acceptance and overall site safety assessments. - Assist in Pre-job planning beginning with support to our Project Managers. Job planning with the Superintendent will continue throughout the job before new activities begin and afterward if needed.
- Evaluate effectiveness of safety programs through daily field walks. Regulatory compliance and audit oversight.
- Meet regularly with field personnel and support in the development of project-specific corrective action plans to address safety issues and concerns
- Provide regular feedback to project leadership in a constructive manner on needed areas for safety improvement and recognition.
- Provide coaching and mentoring for employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors and provide recognition for employees exhibiting safe behaviors.
- Assist with delivery of job site-specific safety orientations for new employees joining the project, as applicable.
- Assist and co-facilitate safety training, testing for all employees (HazCom, Fall Protection, Lockout/Tag-out, etc.) both computer based and hands on.
- Support and assisting Project Leadership in completion of incident investigations.
- Assistance with case management of all injury/illness cases including return to work meetings.
- Perform periodic evaluations of power tools and equipment (i.e. scissor lifts, forklifts, aerial lifts, fall protection, hand tools, etc.) to ensure equipment is being maintained in good working order, as applicable.
- Support Project Leadership in the development and ex*****on of weekly toolbox safety meetings.
- Attend the assigned safety meetings each morning if applicable.
- Ensure that meetings are taking place daily.
- Audit for continuity of topics to be discussed.
- Promote participation in safety meetings from all employees to give employees more ownership of the overall safety culture.
- Evaluate meetings and provide feedback to project leadership on effectiveness. - Ensure Leadmen, Foremen and Superintendents are evaluating the work areas effectively, executing corporate safety program and giving appropriate coaching as needed. - When not assigned to project work this individual will be used in auditing/advancing the safety culture in our manufacturing facilities as needed. - Other required tasks as needed. - Travel required up to 50-75% based on field schedule.

Requirements: Applicants for this role must have the following qualifications:
• Relevant Undergraduate Degree or extensive training in environmental health and safety discipline
• 1 - 3 years in General Industry and Construction safety experience (electrical, mechanical safety experience preferred)
• OSHA 30 in General Industry and Construction required, OSHA 510/511 preferred
• Understanding of construction and general industry consensus standards such as OSHA, NFPA, NESC, ASTM, ANSI, EPA
• Knowledge of Industrial Hygiene standards
• Forklift/Aerial Lift Trainer Certified (Preferred)
• CPR/FA Certified (Trainer Preferred)
• Fall Protection and Scaffolding Competent Person (Required)
• Ability to work independently, strong communication skills with the ability to influence behaviors
• Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Safety certifications in competency desired
• Possess great interpersonal skills and ability to interact with multiple levels of site personnel
• Ability to pass background/drug screen
• Bi-lingual (English-Spanish) desired but not required
