Brainstorming new ideas…

Thumbnail sketches are one of my favourite parts of designing new pieces. Most wont get turned into jewellery but it’s fun to play with gems and my silver components and see what I can come up with! I already have my favourites, but I’m curious if any stand out to you?

These show stopping earrings have been up on my website for a bit and I somehow forgot to post to Instagram. They are one of a kind, handmade in solid sterling silver each with a white freshwater pearl. I also created a matching pendant if your into matchy- matchy 😁

I just finished another custom piece, and I’m so happy with how it turned out!

She fell in love with my original Cedar Arch necklace, but wanted to incorporate a turquoise gemstone to represent water. I suggested adding the pebble “beach” and together we came up with this one of a kind pendant. 😁

I love collaborating with clients to bring special ideas like this to life. This necklace is more than jewellery, it’s a wearable piece of art with its own unique story. 🌿

The forget me nots are in bloom in my garden ❤️ so of course I had to do a little photoshoot with the inspiration!

I’ve just restocked my website with the pendant, stud earrings and dangle earrings in sterling silver. I also have one pair of 14k yellow gold dangle earrings ready to ship 🌸 ✨

The right tool for the job!

My most used tool in the studio is the fordum flex shaft. Think if it like a jewellers dremmel that has a foot petal. From sanding and grinding to drilling, polishing and even hammering this tool does it all! These are some of the bits I like to use to create my jewellery for you ❤️

Today a ton of people showed up for the Reimagined group exhibition artist reception gallery in Calgary.

I found this one of most interesting and challenging exhibitions to participate in… I didn’t realize how much experimentation would go into challenging myself with unfamiliar materials. I created two pieces, a necklace and a pair of earrings from the second hand jewellery bits and pieces donated for the exhibition. It was important to me that I created a functional piece of jewellery for the exhibition but it was nice to see that not every artist thought that way. The work was really interesting and varied with lots of sculptural pieces as well.

The exhibition runs May 16-June 22 at the Alberta Craft Council Gallery in Calgary, located in Cspace.
