Hello! We are Joshua & Megan McKean, a Sydney based industrial designer and an illustrator with a passion for travel.
Our honeymoon was spent soaking up the sun in L.A, admiring art in N.Y.C, eating pastries in Paris and strolling the streets of London, Brussels and Amsterdam. We returned home with itchy feet and inspiration for McKean Studio, working to create a range of contemporary souvenirs that capture the fun of travel. Since our honeymoon, we've practiced our Swedish in Stockholm, road-tripped the U.S.A's Route 66, admired the Northern Lights in Reykjavik, paddled swan-boats in Tokyo, brunched in Melbourne and pretended we were in the swinging 60s in Palm Springs — each trip inspiring the creation of unique souvenirs for modern travellers.
The McKean Studio collection of travel keepsakes has grown into jewellery, homewares, art prints and accessories, all representative of our favourite cities. Our designs have been featured in countless publications including The Age, Frankie, Architectural Digest, Good Weekend, Harpers Bazaar and Inside Out, as well as online publications such as The Design Files, Broadsheet, Cool Hunting and Design Sponge. We also write for Expedia, sharing the best ways to spend your time in cities in Australia and abroad.
Currently we work from our sunny studio in Sydney's inner west, and are always dreaming of where to travel next. Everything that McKean Studio produces is proudly designed by the two of us in Australia.
