Happy Father's Day everyone

My wonderful father is now in good company with our 17yr old Maddy Cat

It's a day of honour today and to remember those who brought us into the world and left gifts of building the characters of who we have become today.

My dad shaped me and my future to the best he could. Showing me love, compassion and generosity always extends past your own homes threshold.

We miss him everyday, and now Maddy, our special fur baby who defied death as long as she could to make sure I'll be okay without hers and dads cuddles.

Today I'm okay. I'm grateful for the love my family and friends circulate amongst each other and I'm luckier than the average bear for it.

2 years today

I love this pic, my brother's Dan and Mick won trophies, but dad holds them as if they are his own. Typical of his pride he had for us, and showcased his cheeky sense of humour rarely captured on film!

The pride he exhumed when we achieved something gave a dopamine hit I still chase today, nothing compares to dad's approval.

Miss him every day and I'm grateful he was able to teach me as much as he did in the short time we shared in the workshop.

I hear his teachings whilst using the tools, each sound is a trigger. Recently his old rusted ultrasonic machine stopped working, so I promptly bought a replacement, but then decided to try using the new cable on his machine I had already placed in the bin...and it worked...

The sound of his machine turning on again gave me a jolt of nostalgia I wasn't expecting. The comfort it brought was unexpected, the familiarity, and the memory of his calming voice talking over the buzz flooded my heart.

Then I got a dopamine hit, he would have been proud I got the old rust bucket working.

I haven't got him to tell, so I just wanted to share with you. His lessons for me circulate in my head everyday and I'm so grateful for the closeness it gives me to him, and for being the jewellers daughter.

Just a public annoucement that I'm currently tweaking my website and its offline right now.
Only temporary and only good things to come!

So I'm in the club of broken ankles now. Dad did his many years go, and both of us did it by slipping in a drive way.
I never realised how debilitating it is and when you live in a house with stairs...restrictive too.
Happy to report no surgery needed but I need a few weeks to heal.
My job book is closed, and it also says to me I've been rushing around too much, it's been a year since we had a break in Spain. Time for a well earned break.
Not sure when I officially return, my body, my head my heart all need some TLC.
If you need something urgent I'll recommend people when you reach out.

*Special note, my lil nephew Blake wrapped his leg in sympathy for his Nonno. Isn't that the cutest!
