I am so excited to be attending the December Christmas Market! 🎄
Find me there on the 9th, 10th & 11th of December for three days of shopping from 250+ Australian small businesses, including mine! It’s the perfect place to get some Christmas shopping done and even better to know you’re supporting Australian businesses whilst you do it.
It’s on at Exhibition Park in Canberra on Friday 9th of December from 5pm until 9pm and Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th from 10am until 4pm. Pop past and say hi!

At this time of year, when it’s a bit colder, I gravitate towards wearing darker colours, and balance them with neutral coloured or clear earrings. Since I’m not wearing as many bright colours, I rely on the shape of the earrings to add visual interest to my outfits.

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been on the old socials, in fact, this is my first post since LAST YEAR 🤦‍♀️ So here are some of your favourite posts from 2021 along with some updates for 2022:
👉🏼 UPDATE: Thank you to those of you who have sent lovely messages asking just where I’ve been. I was unlucky to catch Covid to start my year and unfortunately I’ve had some trouble shaking it completely. I’m on the mend and will slowly be popping back into your feeds but will be taking things a little more slowly this year
👉🏼 ORDERS: Thank you to those of you who have been shopping online! I’m getting your amazing orders out and have been LOVING the lovely feedback you have sent through! So, if you are looking for some Mikmat, your online order will be fulfilled in the normal timeframes and sent to you quick smart!
👉🏼 MARKETS: Because I am not fully on top of things, markets will be the last thing to come back for Mikmat this year. I love seeing you at the markets but as a one-woman stallholder, these days are super physically demanding and right now I am prioritising my health
👉🏼 NEW THINGS! With lots of time to rest, I’ve finally got the brain space to think of a few new things, some promotions and a few new designs. So keep an eye out over the next little while for some new fun things!

I can’t wait to get back into Mikmat so slowly slowly wins the race in 2022! I hope you have all had a wonderful start to the year and can’t wait to be back into the swing of things 💛

MIKMAT DESIGNS

Mikmat Designs loves colour, shape and fun contemporary laser cut jewellery to help you create outfits you adore. Mikmat has been created from passion for good design and making products in a thoughtful way while keeping it fun, light and fresh. Trish, the creator of Mikmat Designs, studied at COFA (UNSW) and is an interdisciplinary designer, who has worked within homewares and fashion industries in Australia and overseas. She has always loved colour and pattern and aims to bring to life jewellery inspired by vintage styles, travel and culture.

All items are locally designed and made in Newcastle NSW using laser cut acrylic and bamboo components. Mikmat likes to keep waste to a minimum and as such, creates new shapes to fill the space.

Mikmat Designs likes to use ethical and sustainable suppliers, keeping it local where possible. Currently, we design and make everything in house, onlyoutsourcing the cutting of materials to other small businesses.
