I’ve 3D printed my own little alien...
Two of them to be exact. Most days they like to hang on my ears and surprise my friends. Even people on the street ask me where I got them from! 👽👽
They are still learning our ways and are a bit shy, but I promise they will make their debut at MALINKO store very soon. So you’ll be able to get your very own pair of ear-aliens.

‘OH NO! SHE WORE IT TWICE!’
After pinning the problem right in the heart (see last post) I started thinking of the ways of making an impact beyond my own closet.

I certainly won’t be able to change retail giants who would happily sell us air if they could. But I can introduce an alternative and sustainable product that will literally allow people to wear it more than once.

This is how the idea of the REUSABLE BAG was born. And it is very simple: one side of the bag clearly states that it is REUSABLE.
So if someone gasps ‘Oh, no! She wore it twice’, you can point to the note and say ‘No, I wore it HUNDRED times’! 😁
The bag is 100% 3D printed and I’ll share all innovations and amazing tech behind it in the next post!

FAST FASHION IS DEAD
This is the headline I wanted to see in my feed for some time now. Fast fashion is wrong for so many reasons that it should not be popular by now.
First of all, because poor quality things don’t last long. Someone will say: ‘yeah, but so do trends’.
Congratulations! We got to the root of the problem pretty fast.
Thousands of bloggers, influencers and celebrities wearing new outfit every time they go...no, not even on the red carpet, but to walk their dog that it became a sign of success.
Thanks to that, women feel the need to get a new set of clothes for every new event. A lot of them end up with a closet full of things that do not work with each other and almost never worn twice. Sounds familiar? It does to me. I had one of these closets until I realised that it doesn’t make sense, it’s not practical, it’s time consuming, it’s wasteful.
So I started thinking of ways of making an impact beyond my own closet...

🌿When I’m not designing, I’m doing nature photography.
Over the years, tropical plants of Singapore have become a great inspiration and a big part of my work. They are everywhere: on streets, on roof tops, by the pool...
So this post is a tribute to the stunning greenery of Singapore that knocks on my window every morning and saves me from the heat in its shade! 🌿

FINALE
I broke all the possible rules of storytelling with Aster and Olea’s adventure. I didn’t post every day, waited for almost 3 days for the finale and to be honest, I didn’t even know how it’s going to end until last night (normal people write the story in full and only then start posting😋).
Well, for the final battle any monster that I came up with wasn’t scary enough and it wouldn’t have been a real struggle. The real struggle always happens inside, when people deal with themselves.

I left Aster drifting alone in space or at least that is what she believes. Her battle is to understand what is real and what is not, to let go of her fears and to believe that even one person can help to save the world.
Does that remind you of anyone? Quite often all of us are drifting in life forgetting what is real and what is not...
‘Remember that trees made our life possible on Earth, so we owe them their life...’ - that was the only thought Aster had left, she didn’t remember anything else. She was imagining hugging Olea for the last time and letting her go. Letting her live next to other trees...and that moment she let go of her friend she felt a plant pot in her hands. She looked around and found herself sitting on the floor of her space ship. It was over.
A few minutes later the ship has gently landed. Magnificent trees were rising everywhere and once they felt Olea each one of them was trembling leafs to greet her.
It was time to say goodbye. Olea stretched her leafs to Aster and tickled her cheek. ‘Goodbye, my friend. I know you’ll be super tall when I come back.’ - said Aster and slowly turned back to her ship.
But before she did that, the trees started releasing small white seeds that were floating in the air - the most magical scene Aster has ever seen.
She would find a few of those seeds on her ship later and they would be the key to restoring the Earth’s nature and bringing it back to life...
