TLDR version in the caption below 👇🏼
The thing is we get ONE life.
We get somewhere around 80 years if we’re lucky.
My mum died at age 59. She was not so lucky.
She lived her life in survival mode (single parent, two kids, low income). She lived in a chronic state of stress and ended up having a massive heart attack which led to a stroke. She lived for two more years, highly disabled and with pretty bad brain damage.
Now, consider that the first 20 of our lives are spent becoming an adult.
My mum got 39 years of adult life. That feels INSANE to type out.
I’m 31 which means I have 11 years of proper adulthood on the books. I’m already more than 1/4 of my way into my mums ‘life’ as an adult.
What in the f**k. Respectfully.
If you’re lucky enough to get 80 years...
You get approx 60 years of adulthood.
If you look at the specific chapters most people have (parenthood, retirement, early 20s, etc)...we really only have a short time in these chapters.
We don’t have time to f**k around with “one day”. Your one day is here RIGHT NOW.
Day One if you will!!!
So I don’t actually care weather your DAY ONE is you joining a jewellery making course.
Or its you quitting that job.
Or its moving cities, countries or suburbs.
Or its pivoting your business + career simply because you felt like there was more to learn.
I don’t care what the thing is;
All I ask is that you do those things you know you need to do. Today.
Because life is so short. You might not even get 60 years.
If I can leave you with anything, its to listen to your heart. Follow your interests, leave or transform whats not serving you and choose yourself... because you get one life!!!! GO AND CHOOSE IT.
