The third and final show I took part for MDW’26 was ‘You’ve got mail.’

You’ve Got Mail’ aims to shine a spotlight on an everyday object we rarely stop to notice, the letterbox!
Familiar to all and quietly overlooked, it carries a subtle story of change.

This exhibition celebrates designers who dare to rethink the ordinary, transforming humble objects so they can evolve alongside the world around them.

The below was my contribution:

‘Decagonal Cluster Pillar (concept)’

Material: Nickel Silver, ready-made aluminium bearings

(Larger scale singular sector demonstrates the imagined opening sequence).

Each platform of the tower reciprocates the building level, whilst on rotation, each face represents its own individual unit.

This sculpture is a multiplex-cluster letterbox concept that aims to explore and elaborate on the modern way of living and its corresponding letterboxes.
This concept aims to allow viewers to imagine and ponder on how we deliver-receive, hold and collect mail.

Opening tonight (invitation only), ‘Being Sensitive’ is my 2nd involvement in this year’s Melbourne Design Week ‘26.

Curated by .kennon - in partnership with RUSSH , exhibition echoes the studios ethos; to be sensitive to place, people, and material.

The exhibition will be held in .kennon , on the top floor of Harry Seidler’s only built work in Melbourne’s CBD.

This, I am very excited about.

Appropriately, inspired by the Seidler tower, the works presented through ‘Being Sensitive’ are a series of wall-hanging pieces, drawn with metal.
The aluminium drawings speak of their form in a simplified language, whilst the ibsa drawings are a closer and more detailed interpretation of the Seidler tower.

*ibsa is a traditional Korean metal-craft technique that involves using a chisel and a chasing hammer to create narrowly spaced indentations across the entire surface of the object in horizontal and diagonal directions. As a result, the surface becomes somewhat similar to woven or intertwined fabric. Onto this surface, gold or silver thread (0.18-0.2mm thickness) is inlaid into the indentations created with the chisel.

Happy to share my latest work for Melbourne Design Week.

The ‘Greedy Flatware Set’ explores the human’s yearning drive for more, that persists even after our basic needs and wants are met.

We are never satisfied and we live in a world where everyone is full of envy and overly self-centered.

With some level of control, we also have to recognise that we have a choice to hold back.

Material: Polished nickel-plated brass
