Sacred Owl Necklace

The owl has always been associated with wisdom because of its links to the Goddess Athena and Roman counterpart Minerva. The Australian Aborigines believe the souls of women are represented by the owl. In Babylon an owl amulet was worn to protect during childbirth. The Inca’s adored the owl for it beauty and bright eyes. The Inuit saw the bird as bringer of wisdom. The Goddess Lakshmi is said to ride an owl. The Celtic Goddess Arianrhod shape shifted into an owl, she could see into human souls and offering comfort and healing to those in need. The owl is associated with the cycle of life.

The owl is a nocturnal and majestic bird of prey scanning its nightly domain for movement. The owl looks wise because its round eyes and quizzical expressions give the impression of a scholar hard at work. The owl was associated with many ancient cultures as a messenger between this world and after life. The hoots and screeches of the owl made it a bird of mystery, secrets and divine information. The moon and the owl go together creating the ideals of the sacred feminine. The owl has amazing hearing, eyesight, camouflage and succinct flight skills. The owl represents study, spiritual wisdom, messages, the afterlife, skill, protection, mystery and magic.

Delphi – Ancient Sites, Gold Necklace

Delphi was an ancient Greek town near the Gulf of Corinth at Mount Parnassus and sacred centre for pilgrimage. It boasted, the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia, the Castalian Spring, theatre, stadium, gymnasium, treasuries and the Temple of Apollo, where the Oracle gave her prophesies. Pythia was name given to high priestess of the Temple of Apollo, who gave answers in the form of riddles. The oracle channelled the God Apollo (sun god) by inducing a trancelike state by inhaling vapours (possibly the smoke of laurel leaves). Her answers could create anything from happiness to war, the oracle was famed the world over. This town was very wealthy; king Croesus of Lydia gifted precious gold statues of Apollo and a Lion to the temple. Gold and other symbolic jewellery were worn by Greek woman and visiting pilgrims; Theia was the goddess of gold, silver, gems, vision and brilliance. In myth Delphi was considered the centre of the world by Zeus and that possibly contributed to its development. Archaeologists believe the site was first settled in the Bronze Age by the Mycenaean’s (1500BCE) and continued to be developed until Theodosius decreed all pagan sanctuaries be closed. The site was rediscovered in 1880 by a team of French archaeologists.

Singapore Inspirations, Necklace, Green/Orange/Pink/Gold

In this tropical metropolis of futuristic buildings and lush green plant life the community and tourism thrives. This small country gives a lesson on living with nature, valuing space, while thinking of future generations in the age of climate change. The world famous Gardens by the Bay are a spectacular mix of growth, joy, knowledge and ingenious architecture. Multiculturalism prevails with Chinese, Malay and Indian people making up the majority of Singapore’s people. Religion is a mix of Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Taoism, Hinduism and other spiritual practices. Singapore is the second busiest port in the world making it a draw card for major business. The sparkling glow of night is a wonder, whether its shopping, exploring or nightlife. Lotus Earrings, maroon/silver

The lotus is a symbolic flower in Buddhism, Hinduism and ancient Egyptian beliefs. This beautiful flower rises from ponds and lakes with an amazing splash of colour. The Lotus is associated with creation, purity, divinity, awakening, growth and rebirth. Deities are seen standing or seated on the Lotus flower. The Lotus is a plant that belongs to the Nelumbo genus, its flowers rise out of muddy water on storks, yet remains clean due to its waterproofing.

Summary: purity of heart and mind, rebirth, growth, divine contact and peacefulness.

Atlantis Necklace – Ancient Sites, Necklace & Earring set, Teal

The island of Atlantis is one of the most talked about ancient civilisations because it has never been formally identified. There are many possible locations in the Atlantic Ocean, but certainly it was talked about by ancient philosophers. Plato’s Timaeus & Critias: The people of Atlantis lived well, they domesticated animals, irrigated their crops, cities were built with harbours and fine temples, bridges and canals with walls and gates were constructed to join the rings of sea around the island. The king of Atlantis was at war with Greece for total domination and Greece was victorious. Sometime after the battle a terrible natural catastrophe sank the island below the waves, making it a dangerous place for ships to pass. Is the island mythical or real? There have been volcanoes and tsunamis that have hidden cities for 2000 years; there are many remnants of cities under the sea. The search goes on.

Neolithic Age – Ancient Sites, Brown/Black/Rust

The Neolithic Age (6000-2500 BC) was a time of self-discovery, spiritual development, art and broad patterns of change. The weather was warming making the ground more fertile, wild wheat and barley was abundant and people began to think about settling in one place. Primitive shrines were set up in caves with shaman dancing and chanting empowered words. Deities, animals and symbols marked the smoky walls of the ochre galleries. Gatherings around fires and telling stories would have been the highlight of a daily living. This New Stone Age era echoes the cradle of civilisation. The ancestors figured out how to survive and eventually trade for what they needed. Neolithic art, ceremony and stable food sources help develop the deep intuitive nature and cultural practices that are still within us.
