Scribbly Gum Designs Handcrafted Australian wood and resin pendants, cufflinks and earrings. Hi, I’m Anton, a woodworker and professional arborist.

By day I care for and manage trees all over Melbourne, and by night you’ll find me in my home workshop making cufflinks, pendants and earrings out of beautiful pieces of wood. I live with my wife Kirsten and our six-month-old daughter in Emerald, Victoria. When I first started making cufflinks, I’d only ever worn a pair once, which was when I was a groomsman for my friend’s wedding. Fast-forward a

few years to the lead-up to my own wedding in 2016. Kirsten, my wife-to-be, had entrusted me with one wedding-prep task – to find some cufflinks for my groomsmen and I to wear on our big day. Being the perfectionist I am, I decided the only way I’d find a pair I really loved was to go out into the shed and make my own. And so began my obsession with creating the perfect pair of wooden cufflinks. Over the past 18 months my jewellery range has been refined and expanded to include cufflinks and earrings made from a range of rare and interesting Australian native woods, as well as pendants made from wood burl and resin. All my pieces are inspired by nature, but are elegant and timeless. Each unique piece is handcrafted then neatly packaged, ready to be worn or given as a gift.

Our stall at the Emerald Bazaar is fully stocked with pendants! If you're like me and avoid the big shops at all costs at this time of year, the Emerald Bazaar had heaps of cool stuff so you won't need to venture off the mountain.

Needed the macro lense to count the rings on this tiny offcut of Huon pine.

45 rings in one 10mm segment.

That's 405 years between the first and last ring.

The slab I cut this from was a good 250mm radius
