The new service building of the Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt features large-format GFRC elements in chrome, giving the building its distinctive outer envelope.
The continuous materiality creates a calm, homogeneous appearance and enables a consistent surface design across the entire facade. At the same time, the material offers extensive design freedom while delivering robust performance. Beyond its high-quality appearance, the material combines fire resistance with durability and excellent weather resistance.

The existing college building has been extended by two additional floors, providing valuable additional space for laboratories and classrooms. Across the building, shared lounges and quiet working areas create a diverse environment that supports both collaboration and focused individual work.

For the facade, the architects at The Collaborative selected a combination of öko skin slats and concrete skin panels in terra and ivory. The interplay of different surfaces within the same colour palette gives the building envelope a lively and varied appearance, while creating a cohesive architectural identity.

Beyond the visual qualities, the material is particularly well suited to the demands of educational buildings. GFRC is robust, durable, non-combustible and weather-resistant, while also offering ball-impact resistance, straightforward installation and low maintenance requirements.

At Holsteiner Kamp in Hamburg, an urban hub for trades and creative businesses has been created that brings together a diverse mix of uses under one roof. ‘Built in Barmbek’ provides space for workshops, studios, co-working areas, rehearsal rooms, small-scale manufacturing facilities and a high-tech makerspace. It offers start-ups and creative businesses the opportunity to develop, test and realise their ideas right in the heart of the city.

The four-storey building with a recessed fifth floor integrates naturally into its urban surroundings. Its facade plays a key role in defining the building’s robust and contemporary character. Around 1,300 m² of concrete skin panels in terra were used for the building envelope. The large-format panels create a distinctive, monolithic appearance while maintaining a slim material thickness of just 13 mm. In addition to their aesthetic qualities, the panels are non-combustible, weather-resistant, robust and durable.

In Rustic Canyon, between Santa Monica and the Pacific Palisades, a challenging, steep site has been transformed into an extraordinary three-storey residence. Rather than working against the terrain, the architects integrated the house directly into the hillside, creating a strong connection between architecture and landscape.

For the facade, they chose öko skin slats, combining design flexibility with functional performance. Their non-combustible properties make them particularly well suited to California’s fire-prone environment, while their natural tone allows the building to blend harmoniously into its surroundings.

The EDGE Suedkreuz in Berlin demonstrates how timber-hybrid construction and facade design can be interwoven at a large architectural scale. The design is driven by a deliberate material contrast between the load-bearing timber structure and a precisely articulated envelope of glassfibre reinforced concrete.

The concrete skin elements form a restrained outer shell that lends the volume a finely articulated sense of scale. The holistic facade solution brings together durability, fire resistance, low weight and a high degree of prefabrication within a coherent system approach. In combination with the timber-hybrid structure, this creates a constructive and design-led dialogue that shapes the building’s presence within the urban context of the Schöneberger Linse.

The differentiated colour palette in sahara, terracotta and silvergrey supports the articulation of the facade, defines the pylons and contributes to the rhythmic perception of the overall volume.

The newly redesigned Eurospar in Mauerbach represents a consistently contemporary synthesis of architecture, function and material quality. Spanning approximately 1,870 m², the store is characterised by a clear and restrained architectural language, as well as the deliberate use of glassfibre reinforced concrete. Combined with generous glazing, the design establishes an open architectural concept that enhances transparency and creates a high-quality spatial experience.

The facade design, realised with burgundy-coloured concrete skin GFRC panels, plays a defining role in shaping the building’s identity. The large-format elements form a homogeneous, virtually seamless envelope, giving the structure a distinctive monolithic presence and a strong architectural clarity.

In Differdange, the school has been refurbished and extended to create more space for a growing student population and modern learning environments.

A defining element of the design is the facade: 3,200 m² of concrete skin panels arranged in square modules and varying shades of red. Composed like a contemporary mosaic, the envelope establishes a strong architectural identity and a high level of recognisability.

The colour concept is directly inspired by the Minett region’s characteristic red earth. Warm tones such as terracotta, coralline, oxide red and burgundy anchor the building in its local landscape and create a clear contextual reference.

Shay Grange Crematorium is a place that combines functionality with dignity, providing space for farewell, reflection and remembrance. The design creates a calm and respectful atmosphere, where architecture supports moments of pause and memory.

The GFRC facade not only offers a timeless aesthetic, but also outstanding durability, fire resistance and lightweight performance. Its soft, sandy tones allow the building to blend harmoniously into its surroundings, reinforcing its understated character.

As part of the comprehensive refurbishment of the office and administrative building in Bad Kissingen, the facade was redefined using large-format concrete skin panels in the colour sahara. Inspired by warm, sandy natural tones, the material palette creates a calm, cohesive and clearly material-focused building envelope.

The large-format GFRC panels form a monolithic facade expression with minimal visual interruptions. At the same time, their slim 13 mm profile offers high technical performance and extensive design flexibility in terms of form, colour and surface finish.

The Koralmbahn is a landmark infrastructure project in Europe. With 130 kilometres of new railway line, 50 kilometres of tunnels and more than 100 bridges, it will connect Styria and Carinthia faster, safer and more sustainably.

Beyond its scale, the project also redefines infrastructure design through a consistent and high-quality architectural language along the entire route, with Rieder facades used on stations and operational buildings.

At St. Paul station, this approach becomes tangible: functional architecture meets refined material expression. öko skin slats in sandstone shape the building’s appearance, combining a distinctive look with tactile quality, easy installation, low maintenance and high fire resistance.
